At Teikoku Pharma our wide range of innovative transdermal technologies includes our proprietary Hydrohesive™ and Matrix technologies.

The Hydrohesive™ patch is a passive delivery technology that uses a water-based adhesive to promote the absorption of drugs with molecules that are small enough to pass otherwise unaided through the skin. Passive patch technologies provide targeted drug delivery and absorption, avoid first-pass metabolism, and allow greater convenience and safety for patients.

Our Matrix patch is a passive delivery technology which is hydrophobic (contains no water) and uses a rate- controlled membrane to deliver the drug. This in turn provides a longer delivery time, up to seven days.

In the Hydrohesive™ and Matrix patches, the drug is in the adhesive, which is designed specifically for the compound that the patch carries. The patches are flexible and easy to use, and are well suited for treating inflamed areas. Our Hydrohesive™ patch can also provide a cooling effect on the application surface.
