Our commitment to discovering new approaches has enabled us to pioneer the creation of a proprietary drug delivery system that uses active technology to allow larger drug molecules to enter the skin.

Wearable Electronic Disposable Drug (WEDD®) delivery technology is a portable and disposable patch that is worn on the surface of the skin and uses low level DC currents to deliver medication transdermally. This process, also known as iontophoresis, allows a greater variety of drugs to be delivered via patch technology, and increases the speed at which the drug works in the body.

WEDD® also features proprietary, ultra-thin, flexible and low-cost battery technology that provides control of dosage amounts and rates, and offers the potential for patient control when appropriate.

Fentanyl was utilized in this human clinical study conducted
by Inveresk Clinical Research, Ltd. in Edinburgh, Scotland.
Therapeutic blood levels were achieved within 30 minutes.

Hairless rat studies were conducted at Mercer University in
Atlanta using propranolol as a representative molecule. This
study successfully demonstrated delivery of constant blood
levels over 24 hours, as well as the ability to vary blood levels
by varying current.

Hairless rat studies conducted at Mercer University
demonstrated the favorable capability of WEDD to deliver
calcitonin as compared to subcutaneous injection.
